I’m Leaving My Dad’s Company
I made a big move last week. Life-changing, actually. I formally announced I’d be leaving my full-time position at my father’s company.
Here’s the thing… I’ve spent the past few years coming up with the Mini Mindsetters concept. Dreaming. Manifesting. Planning… but we all know manifestation is only as powerful as the action and energy we put behind it.
I can manifest this company all day long, but starting it will take work and time.
So, despite my sweating palms and racing heart, I sent this email out to the Fabric Tent Client List on Thursday, March 16th, 2023:
For those of you who don't know, my father Stephen D Lida breathed and lived Fabric Tent…
He built our business from his garage with determination, sweat, blood, and tears! Fabric Tent was his passion, and he had a vision of being a major player in our industry.
He built incredible relationships with his repeated one-too-many jokes, his grit, and his understanding of what it meant to succeed. My father left his legacy to my brother Eric and I. Shoes that seemed impossible to fill.
When clients learned of my father's passing the stories they would share would bring tears to my eyes. Not just because of how much I missed him but because of the impact he had on people.
Beyond business, he brought so much joy and laughter. My father pursued his passion and in doing so, he touched thousands of lives, and he’s inspired me to do the same…
That’s why March 31st, 2023 will be my final day as part of the Fabric Tent organization.
While my staff and clients will always be a part of my Fabric Tent family, my passion is to inspire parents to lead their children to become the best version of themselves.I started a new company, Mini Mindsetters, to help parents raise their children with resilience and grit. To create connection and love. To believe dreams can be transformed into reality.
I’ll transition to Mini Mindsetters full-time beginning March 31st. Without my father, I wouldn’t have the knowledge, work ethic, and grit it takes to start something new in order to make an impact in this world.I am forever grateful for all of the lessons I learned during my time at Fabric Tent.
For the last 20 years, I’ve had the opportunity to work with some incredible people (including you). I am grateful for all of you who have inspired me to be better. Who have made me laugh, and shared your stories with me. I will miss you all.

Within minutes, tons of heartfelt responses came flooding in from the clients I’d spent the past 20+ years working with!
I cried all day. Not only because of the loving messages… but because it felt like I was ending a chapter. A chapter I really enjoyed.
It’s time for me to start a new chapter… The one where I help thousands of families with the tools I’ve learned over the years. The one where I show my son, through my own actions, that he can accomplish whatever he wants with the power of manifestation and a lot of confidence. The one where I make Mini Mindsetters a reality.
Thank you for coming along for the journey.
Love, Caryn
